The Roads from Galilee to Jerusalem

The colours show who lived where and who ruled them. Jews lived in Galilee and Judea, and Samaritans between them, often hostile to Jews. The dashed lines are the main roads: by the coast, through Samaria, or down the Jordan valley. Jesus went through Samaria and spoke with a Samaritan woman at Sychar. Another time a Samaritan village would not receive Him.
