After Alexander the Great died, his empire was split. The Ptolemies ruled Egypt. The Seleucids ruled from Syria to Persia. This is the time between the Old and New Testaments. Daniel speaks of the king of Grecia and four kingdoms after him. "Ammon" in Libya is an Egyptian shrine, not the land of Ammon in the Bible.
